Polygon PoS - TPS

Image
Currently Polygon web site boasts up to 65 000 TPS. Popular TPS you also see mentioned when talking about Polygon PoS chain is 7200 TPS. There has been a blog post posted by Polygon in address https://blog.matic.network/7200-tps-achieved-on-matic-networks-counter-stake-testnet/, but that blog post doesn’t seem to exist anymore even in the new location of the polygon blog archive here . Based on another blog post of their own, the 7200 TPS seems to be a theoretical max limit for the PoS chain instead. The blog post refers to 1000 TPS being closer to actual achievable TPS. In practice however, as a Polygon project fan myself, I have been monitoring their PoS chain block explorer a lot, and I have never seen the TPS count in practice going over around 110 TPS even on times when the transaction queue has been getting very long on peak times. From their average gas price chart you can see some days with spiking gas prices. During those days the networks had trouble handling all the trans...

Blockchain EVM comparison

I wanted to create a honest comparison with real numbers instead of showing you theoretical marketing numbers. If you disagree with any of it, please leave a comment, back it up with data or proof and I will correct my content. Keeping this post super short as you people are SO lazy reading anything 🤣  If you like what I do, consider following me on twitter: @aCryptoObserver Summary This picture is a summary of my research and I keep it updated to contain latest information. TPS - Transactions per second TPS figures in the picture means maximum sustainable real-world usage TPS. Check out background and "proof" for the TPS on these separate articles: Avalanche - C-chain: 27 TPS Polygon PoS: 100 TPS Fantom: 20 TPS Telos EVM: 1000 - 6000 TPS Conclusions It seems like most TPS figures mentioned in crypto space are theoretical maximums or at least results of a tests run with the lightest transactions possible to achieve high TPS counts, very little connected to real world usage s...
